London Festival of Architecture 2021

The London Festival of Architecture is back!

After over a year of lockdown (on and off) and all industry events cancelled we are so excited to attend this year's LFA. This year's theme is care - asking what it would mean to design a society around the principle of care. With the past year so much has changed and seems like a fitting theme to really question the inequalities we have found our society face with the pandemic, Black Lives Matter and the pressure on our healthcare systems.

This year's festival will be celebrating architecture and our amazing city with events and activities across London throughout June. We have noted a few highlights we are really looking forward to..

One of the highlights of the LFA is the ability to walk around the city and discover new areas, installations and learning opportunities. Following an LFA competition nine benches designed by some of London's best new emerging architects will be revealed across the City and we look forward to discovering them!

Most of us have had to work remotely for the best part of a year and whilst for some this is not a new concept - it is still fairly not practiced in the built environment industry.

The Davidson prize exhibition showcases entrants' innovative solutions for living to responses of the theme Home/Work. The exhibition using 3D tool Unreal Engine features concepts including community based solutions, natural light and well being, retrofit and modular solutions of the separation of work and living and the occupation of in-between spaces.
